Hi! I’m Nicole, and I’m the owner and editor behind Pen to Paper Editorial.

A North Carolina native, I went to college in Jackson, Mississippi, where I earned a BFA in creative writing and a BA in English. Most importantly, I fell more deeply in love with language and developed the niche ability to serve as a liaison between the creative and non-creative types of thinkers. This means I’m uniquely qualified to help get your project into the world sounding like you and ensuring it’s technically correct.

My experience spans multiple genres, but my heart lies with middle grades fiction and memoirs. That said, I can pivot from a 50,000-word business leadership nonfiction copyedit to a 650-word picture book developmental edit to middle grade fiction manuscript assessment—and that's after just one cup of coffee!

I live in North Carolina with my husband, daughter, and rescue pup. When I’m not elbows-deep in editing or writing, you can find me checking out the local food & drink scene or watching Downton Abbey or Ted Lasso for the millionth time.
